EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Indiana State Police trooper Tanner Hurley is making a difference on the roads.

Since becoming a trooper in 2018, he has made more than 200 DUI arrests, eventually being recognized as the top DUI enforcement trooper at ISP’s Evansville post.

14 News got the chance to ride-along with Trooper Hurley as he conducted some traffic stops.

“It feels feels good coming out here and getting people off the road who are impaired and are a danger to others” said Hurley.

Of those arrests Hurley say “I’ve had many people come back or I’ve stopped them again a couple years later and they tell me that since they were arrested by me they’ve went to rehab or they’ve not touched a drug since.

Trooper Hurley was also awarded the top performance award for being the top Drug recognition expert for the state in 2022.
