NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - Deaconess Health System officials are inviting college students to the “Step Right Up to Your Career” recruitment event on Thursday.

According to a press release, healthcare systems across the country continue to navigate workforce shortages.

Deaconess officials say they are committed to building a strong future for health care by investing in the next generation of professionals.

They say Deaconess is hosting its “Step Right Up to Your Career” recruitment event to help connect students and recent graduates with career opportunities.

According to Deaconess officials, this free event is open to college students, upcoming graduates and recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in health care.

Officials say attendees can explore opportunities in a variety of fields, including nursing, certified surgical technology (CST), respiratory therapy, imaging, pre-med, medical assisting and medical laboratory technology (MLT).

Students are welcome to bring a friend or guest to help make the experience more enjoyable and comfortable.

They say in addition to learning about current job openings, attendees will discover the many benefits of building a career at Deaconess, including mentorship for new graduates, tuition reimbursement, competitive pay, hiring bonuses, opportunities for career advancement and a welcoming, supportive work environment.

The recruitment event will also feature campus tours and opportunities to win prizes, giving students a chance to explore the hospital, connect with the Deaconess team and envision their future in health care.

The event is set to take place Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Deaconess Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital in the 3rd flood pavilion.
