EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Monday night’s city council meeting in Evansville touched on a variety of topics, including a new position in the mayor’s office.

Deputy Mayor Lindsay Locasto says the new role in the mayor’s office is going to increase the work the office is able to do.

Locasto says this role will help the citizens of Evansville get more access to the mayor’s office.

That new position is for a Community Affairs Special Project Director.

Mayor Terry has taken the hiring process very seriously and this position will be no different.

“Mayor Terry has been very vocal about making sure she’s out in the community listening, hearing all the citizens and things that we can do to continue to progress Evansville forward,” says Locasto. “So this is just going to be able to let our office have that capacity to reach a larger group across the community.”

This position is part of Mayor Terry’s 100 day plan. Mayor Terry is working on a job description now.
