DUBOIS CO., IN (WFIE) - One woman was taken to the hospital after an ambulance ran a red light and crashed into her car.

We're told 20-year-old Austin Hagan was driving northbound on SR 162 in an ambulance when he ran a red light.

We're told Hagan crashed into 23-year-old Riva Stenftenagel, who police said was driving westbound on SR 64 and had the right of way.

Officials said a patient was being treated in the ambulance. We're told the patient was taken to Memorial Hospital by another ambulance.

We're told another person who was treating the patient in the back of the ambulance was not belted in and was injured.

Police told us Stenftenagel's two children were in the back of her car and were not hurt.

Officials said while Stenftenagel was being treated by Emergency Services for her injuries, she told the deputies on the scene her license and registration were somewhere in her car.

While trying to find her registration, police said they found marijuana in the car and a blood test at Memorial Hospital showed she was positive for marijuana.

She was then released from Memorial Hospital and transported to the Dubois County jail.

She was charged with Possession of Marijuana and OWI.

Hagan was written a citation for disregarding a traffic signal.
