Three hurt, cited after rollover wreck in Gallatin Co.
GALLATIN CO., IL (WFIE) - Three people are hurt after a wreck in Gallatin County, IL.
It happened Sunday night just before 10 on Shawneetown-New Haven Blacktop, about a mile south of Highline Road.
According to state police, 38-year-old Hershel Smith, of Boonville, IN, was driving a pickup truck south on the Shawneetown-New Haven Blacktop when he lost control went off the road.
The truck overturned causing the two passengers, 35-year-old Christopher Smith, Sturgis, KY, and Ashley Henshaw, of Morganfield, KY, to be thrown from the vehicle.
Hershel Smith and Henshaw were taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Christopher Smith was flown from the scene by medical helicopter.
No word on their current condition, but state police cited Hershel Smith for DUI. Christopher Smith and Ashley Henshaw were also cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
