DELPHI, Ind. (WPTA) - As interest in true crime has swept the nation, NBC’s Dateline is exploring a high-profile double murder case out of Indiana on Friday evening.

Case background here

“A Walk Through The Woods” is set to cover the 2017 murders of 13-year-old Abigail “Abby” Williams and 14-year-old Liberty “Libby” German. The girls disappeared during a hike on Feb. 13, 2017, near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi.

Their bodies were then discovered the next day, on Valentine’s Day.

Suspect Richard Allen was sentenced to the maximum of 130 years in the girls’ deaths on Dec. 20.

According to NBC, the episode features interviews with the victims' family members, Delphi Sheriff Tony Liggett, and Allen’s defense attorneys.

During a press conference following Allen’s sentencing, Sheriff Liggett said while justice was served, there will “never be any closure in this case”.
