New restaurant called 'Toast' comes to Evansville's west side
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A new restaurant is spicing up Evansville's west side, seven days a week.
Toast, located at the Helfrich Hills Golf Course, serves mainly breakfast and brunch food, but with a Polish flare.
Owner Kassy Lauer is married to a Polish man and is bringing their family traditions to the kitchen.
Part of her dream was to open a restaurant that served food from local farms and healthy options like gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan.
"Farm to tables is becoming more and more popular, and what I hope by participating in that movement is that it ups the anti for other places. Serving real food isn't something that should be difficult, and not something that should be overlooked," Lauer said.
Along with serving food, Toast also turns into a lounge around 9 p.m on the weekends with live music until 3 in the morning.
Their hours are Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m, Saturday from 6 a.m. until 3 a.m., and Sunday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
