(AP) - An Evansville man in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend and scattering her remains across three counties has offered to plead guilty to the strangulation death of his cellmate.
Joe Brown told a Miami judge that he would plead guilty to the attack in exchange for prosecutors not seeking his execution.
The judge replied that he couldn't accept that plea by video conference and entered a not guilty plea for Brown.
Brown is accused of strangling 62-year-old Charles Miller at the Miami Correctional Facility in Indiana.
He is serving a life sentence without parole for killing Ginger Gasaway 11 years ago.
