Funeral for Sargent Shriver

MARYLAND (NBC) - There was a funeral mass on Saturday for Sargent Shriver who started the peace corps in the 1960's.

Hundreds of people, including former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama attended.

Maria Shriver and her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger helped carry the casket at the Shriver family's church in Maryland.

Sargent Shriver was the brother-in-law of former President John F. Kennedy.

He was remembered for his optimistic attitude and passion for helping others.

Daughter Maria Shriver says, "All of us in our family take great comfort knowing that daddy is in Heaven with God and with mommy. He was deeply in love with both of them, devoted in every sense of that word to both of them. In fact, he lived his life for the two of them."

Sargent Shriver died on Tuesday at the age of 95.
