Inmate escapes custody during transport in Ohio Co., facing more charges

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate is facing additional charges after he escaped custody during transport Thursday afternoon.
According to officials, Isaiah Myles was being escorted to the Ohio County Detention Center from the Ohio County Circuit Court when he slipped out of his ankle restraints and took off on foot.
They say the nearby Wayland Elementary School and Pre-Schools were put on lockdown as a precaution.
Myles was located a short time later on Walnut Street in Hartford during a multi-department search.
He is facing additional charges of escape, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
A mugshot for Myles was not available on the Ohio County Detention Center’s website.
Sheriff Adam Wright says the incident is under investigation.
