TaylorMade Golf plans multi-million dollar investment in Vanderburgh Co.
VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. (WFIE) - TaylorMade Golf Company is planning a multi-million dollar expansion in Vanderburgh County, building a new warehouse facility on 53 acres at 6700 Petersburg Road.
According to a press release, the company will make a multi-million dollar investment to occupy and equip a new built-to-suit warehouse. Officials say the expansion will create up to 50 new jobs by the end of 2031.
The new space will increase TaylorMade’s footprint in Vanderburgh County by enabling the company to move its current operations under one roof to support increased demand for its products across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Officials say the expansion will allow the company to ship millions of products annually.
Jessica Delgado, Associate Director of PMO Operations at TaylorMade, said Evansville’s location was a key factor in the decision.
“Crossroads of America. It was the best place logistically for our customers and how we can get to them. Everyone wants to be Amazon nowadays,” Delgado said.
The company’s central location allows it to reach more than 80 percent of its customers within three days.
Patrick Schmidt, Director of North American Fulfillment at TaylorMade, said the new facility will improve both capacity and service.
“When you look at just the ability and increased capacity, as we grow, we have to ship more, we have to ship it faster. From a pure capacity point of view, we’re going to be able to process and ship more but I think from a service point of view, we should be able to do it more efficiently and faster to our customers,” Schmidt said.
Josh Armstrong, Chief Economic Development Officer for the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP), said the organization worked with TaylorMade for roughly a year as the company evaluated sites in Indiana and across the country.
“Needed additional space and really wanted to stay in the Evansville market and so we’ve been working with TaylorMade for roughly a year as they look for a site here, and compared us to other sites around the state and frankly really around the country and we came out on top and we’re able to keep them here,” Armstrong said.
TaylorMade has operated in Evansville for nearly 10 years. Armstrong said the company’s decision to remain reflects its relationship with the local workforce.
“It is really full-circle. I think that they’ve really grown to appreciate the work ethic of our folks here, our location is absolutely central for the golf industry,” Armstrong said.
The company expects to begin moving into the new Petersburg Road facility in early 2027 and begin hiring for new positions later that year.
During the transition, TaylorMade will operate both its current location and the new facility simultaneously.
Ken Newcomb, President of FC Tucker Commercial, said the current Garrison Avenue warehouse will be available for lease. He expects the building to be ready for a new tenant between the end of 2027 and early 2028.
