5 dogs found shot to death, dumped on side of road, deputies say
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - Five dogs were shot to death and left on the side of the road in South Carolina, according to authorities.
Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, dispatch received a 911 call about three dogs found dead along McKittrick Bridge Road Extension in Fountain Inn, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said that investigators found that each dog had been shot at least once and was left along with a blanket on the side of the road.
None of the dogs had collars or microchips. Officials were unable to find any owner in the immediate area, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies later reported two dogs were found shot near the railroad tracks on Cioffi Road in Piedmont. One was a male Catahoula/Pit mix and the other a female black Pit mix.

Investigators said they cannot confirm at this time if the two incidents are related but are actively working all leads.
