Pastor’s wife arrested in connection to husband’s death after he was killed in Africa, church says

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KVLY/Gray News) - A church in Minnesota is in disbelief after the former pastor’s wife was arrested in connection to his “violent” death in Africa.

On Oct. 25, 44-year-old Beau Shroyer was killed on a mission trip to Angola with his wife and their five kids, Lakes Area Vineyard Church announced.

Shroyer was a former pastor at the church, however, he moved his family to Angola three years ago to become missionaries with SIM USA.

The church announced that Jackie Shroyer was arrested, but offered no other details.

A State Department representative confirmed the death of a U.S. citizen, and said it’s aware of reports of a U.S. citizen detained in Angola.

However, they did not share any other information.
