Within St. Mary's, our Heart Institute includes a:

  • 6-bed chest pain emergency department
  • 48-bed cardiac telemetry unit
  • 24-bed intensive care unit
  • Four catheterization labs, including one for electrophysiology, pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillators
  • Two diagnostic and interventional labs, including one bi-plane lab also used for pediatric cardiac catheterization

In 2006, St. Mary's built a new four-story, 125,000 square-foot Center for Advanced Medicine attached to the main hospital that houses cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, the latest high-speed, non-invasive diagnostic equipment, labs and cardiac rehabilitation services. This adjoining facility brings all of St. Mary's advanced cardiac services to one location by conveniently locating outpatient programs near St. Mary's inpatient cardiac services.
