Search for missing man continues in Warrick County
WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) - The search for Donald Westfall Junior has been ongoing ever since he went missing two months ago.
Family and friends met at Yankeetown Elementary School on Sunday to find anything to bring them closure.
After meeting at the school, everyone headed towards the riverbank just east of Alcoa. The search was led by Westfall's daughter Alexis.
"A couple of leads and tips have come in that led us to search down here in this area. We're covering the riverbank here hopefully all the way down to the Grandview area," said Alexis Westfall.
With a team of over 30 people covering the area, they hopped on their bikes and ATVs in search of anything pointing to Westfall's disappearance. Alexis hopes to find closure.
"It just still doesn't feel real. I feel like since we still haven't found his body yet, there is no kind of closure or anything. His granddaughter misses him, that's for sure," said Westfall.
Alexis says they've searched almost every weekend for the last 8 weeks. And it's not just his family and friends.
"People that don't even know him, people that have never even heard of his name. So I know he would appreciate it," said Westfall.
And although Alexis tells me, she and many others are prepared for the worst, she still holds onto some hope.
