SPENCER CO., IN (WFIE) - The Spencer County Animal Shelter says their cat quarantine is over, but there is a new policy concerning the kittens they will allow to be dropped off.
The shelter posted to their Facebook page that kittens must be at least eight weeks old and at least two pounds.
The Facebook page had been temporarily removed after allegations of cats being put in the freezer as a form of euthanasia.
The Spencer County Animal Shelter Board later released a statement saying they acknowledge the actions happened, they are opposed, and they remain committed to providing humane care and treatment of animals.
The case is currently under investigation by Indiana State Police.
