HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) - Three men completed a new program, that was created to help inmates learn new skills.

The program, called INSINC, stands for Inmates Need Skills in New Careers.  A ceremony was held at the jail for the inmates, Phillip Phelps, Chad Thomas and Joe Roedig.

The program allows incarcerated volunteers to become certified in basic welding through a thirty hour course of instruction.

A new class will begin in the fall. Eventually, they plan to offer masonry, general construction and basic electricity.
