(WFIE) - Thirty-thousand United Mine Workers members and supporters are headed to Columbus, Ohio for a rally Thursday at the Ohio State Capitol. 150 of those rally participants are from the Tri-State.
Three buses full of supporters pulled out of Morganfield on Wednesday.
Many of them are retired miners hoping to raise awareness and push for getting their promised pensions.
"What the rallies are doing is to wake people up and get them to realize that when you're talking about these issues, that you're talking about these people and their lives," said Joy Gray a miner supporter.
Truck drivers, warehouse workers, and bakery workers will also be represented at the rally.
