NEWBURGH, IN (WFIE) - Warrick County is about to be the center of the competitive golf world as the United Leasing and Finance Golf Champion at Victoria National tees off this week.

This is the seventh year in a row Victoria National has hosted the United Leasing and Finance Championship.

Now, the actual pro golfers tee off in the tournament Thursday, but crews here have been working for months to make sure things are ready. We talked to the head golf pro here at Victoria National, who says everyone puts in extra hours and in the end it's worth it.

"It takes us out of our normal day to day activities and puts us into a great tournament and a great environment where we put in some long hours, but we love what we do, we love this week, we love giving back to the community, and love seeing everyone out here," explained Adam Lash, Victoria National Head Golf Pro.

And that hard work paid off last year. Players voted the United leasing and Finance Championship the 2017 tournament of the year.
