MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) - We have an update on the pastor shot in the head a few months ago.

Michael McCool is now back at the Bible-Way Church on Main Street. He isn't able to preach yet because he's still recovering from the gunshot wound.

For now, he's able to walk with a cane.

McCool tells us the bullet is still in his head. He says he doesn't want it taken out because he's afraid it might affect his memory. He tells us this has been the most difficult journey of his life.

"I was brought up by a military dad," McCool said. "He said walk it off son, walk it off. You can do this. I still believe that way, but my left leg doesn't work, my left arm doesn't work, but I'll get through it one day.

Cornelius Walker, the man accused of shooting McCool, will be back in court on Monday for a pre-trial conference.
