Actress Debbie Reynolds has died

US actress Debbie Reynolds has died, a day after the death of her film star daughter Carrie Fisher.

According to law enforcement sources, 84-year-old Reynolds was hospitalized this afternoon after paramedics were called to her son's home in Coldwater Canyon, distraught ... discussing her daughter's funeral plans.

The 911 call was made around 1 pm.  Reynolds was suspected of suffering a stroke.  An ambulance was seen leaving her son's home this afternoon.

Reynolds career spanned nearly 7 decades, including some of the most iconic films of the 20th century.  She's Hollywood Royalty.  She was the first wife of pop mega-star Eddie Fischer, who divorced her to marry her best friend, Elizabeth Taylor.

She became famous in 1952, starring in "Singing in the Rain" when she was cast alongside Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor.

Decades later, her daughter would become "Princess Leia."

Hours after Fischer's death Tuesday following a heart attack, Reynolds thanked fans for their support and condolences.

Reynolds is survived by her son Todd, a TV commercial director from her marriage to Eddie Fisher; and granddaughter, actress Billie Lourd.
