Castle's marching band gets sweet gesture from thousands of miles away
The marching band at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas competed against Castle High School two weeks ago during Nationals in Indianapolis. On their way home from the competition, they heard about what happened to the Rinehart family so they marched into action to send their sympathy.
The students at Ronald Reagan High contacted Gayla Cakes in Evansville to deliver 250 cookies for Castle's band members. They also put together a special package they had sent to Gayla and asked for it to be delivered with the cookies.
Once Gayla found out that it was going to be possible, she knew it was going to be a lot of work.
That kind gesture and all of that hard work that Gayla and her staff put in is something that made a difference.
"It is truly touching from our friends at Ronald Reagan High School," said Castle's band director, Tom Dean. "It's truly remarkable when you compete and then also we have such an outpouring of support for each other as well."
