OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Marvina's Fireworks proudly advertises that its open year round and even after the crazy fourth of July crowds come through, owners say this business still stays busy.
It doesn't matter what day of the year it is, people walk through Marvina's doors daily looking to shoot some fireworks in the sky. The 4th of July is the busiest time of course, but firework sales also sky rocket around New Years Eve and then throughout the year for people's personal events.
It's enough to keep this business soaring.
"This is my second year here at the Frederica street location year round and it's gone really well," owner Laurie Drake says. "Because people realize fireworks aren't just for the fourth of July. They can be for baby reveal parties, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and just your every day cookouts because fireworks really make good memories."
Workers say this is the only place in Owensboro open all year round and even after a wet 4th of July, the business still sold many fireworks and still are selling many fireworks as people are celebrating a little late with the rain this week.
In the city of Owensboro, fireworks are allowed all year round between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Other towns are different.
Evansville has specific dates on holidays so make sure you check with your city's code before buying fireworks after the 4th.
