EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A man is arrested in connection with an Evansville robbery.
Police say officers were sent to a home in the 1200 block of North Second Ave. around 11 Wednesday night to check out a report about gunshots in the area.
The victim told officers that the same man who had robbed him earlier in the month, Kyndrick Hancock, had just came into his home with a gun and demanded money.
When the victim told Hancock he didn't have any money, police say Hancock fired a shot at him. Police say the victim shot back and Hancock took off in a car.
We're told a car matching the description was stopped at Washington and Kentucky. Police say Hancock was driving.
Another person in the car told officers he and another person were riding with Hancock when he parked at Florida and Second Avenue and told them that he would be right back. Shortly after that, gunshots were heard and Hancock ran past the car.
They drove off and picked up Hancock a few blocks away.
When officers asked Hancock to get out of the car they found a bullet fragment on the ground. Police say officers also found a gun and latex gloves that matched the victim's description.
Hancock was arrested and charged with burglary and robbery. He is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
Anyone with information about what happened should call the Evansville Police Department at 436-7979 or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
