EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Two officers were injured and three people were arrested when Evansville police attempted to serve felony warrants on Saturday.

Officers tell us they went to an apartment in the 1000 block of Parrett St. just after 4 p.m. for a narcotics complaint.

They found two people who had felony warrants, one being Johntavis Matlock. Police say they arrested him, but he put up a fight.

His sister, Jeanetta Matlock, got involved. Officers tell us Jeanetta assaulted an officer, stepping on his hand, and wouldn't put down a child she was holding. Eventually, officers got her into custody, after a struggle on the ground.

Police spotted the other wanted person, Sasha Drake. They say she tried to leave with a baby in a car seat, but they were able to arrest her before she got away.

Police say the children are now with other family members.

All three suspects are in the Vanderburgh County Jail, facing charges.

The two officers who were hurt, one with a sprained thumb, are okay.
