EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville teen accused of killing another teenager made his first appearance in court Thursday.

Police say 17-year-old Carltez Taylor and the victim, 17-year-old Javion Wilson, were in rival gangs.

Taylor is being held without bond in Vanderburgh County Jail.

Officers say Wilson was shot multiple times over the weekend on Franklin Street.

Police say there were retaliation shots fired into a home a few hours later on Fares Avenue. No one was hurt there.

Taylor will be back in court next week.
