Six teens accused of ‘inciting riot’ in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Dozens of teens took to the streets early Sunday in Owensboro.

We're told a Kentucky state trooper spotted the crowd of about 200 on Second Street.

Police say the trooper turned on his overhead emergency lights because many of the teens were blocking the street.

That's when police say people started to throw bottles.

We're also told the crowd became combative and someone played anti-police music while people danced in the street.

Owensboro Police took several juveniles into custody.

Six teens are charged with inciting a riot.

Some of them are facing an additional charge of assault against a police officer.
