HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) - No charges have been filed in a shooting investigation in Henderson County.

The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Friday on Bluff City Road in Hebbardsville.

Troopers say 36-year-old Freddy Gibson was trying to break through the front door of a home when he was shot.

According to Kentucky State Police, 69-year-old Henry Butler fired two rounds from his 20 gauge shotgun at Gibson.

Butler then called the State Police Post to report the shooting.

Detectives say Gibson fled the scene and wrecked his vehicle about half a mile from Butler's home.

Responding troopers found Gibson on the ground outside his vehicle.

Gibson was flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville for treatment.

He is now listed in stable condition.

Detectives believe this incident was not a random home invasion but rather a dispute between two acquaintances.

They expect no charges will be filed.  However, the case will be presented to a grand jury once all the information is gathered.

The investigation is ongoing.
