EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Principal of Benjamin Bosse High School was named Educator of the Year during the Leaders in Education Recognition dinner on Saturday.

Sheila Huff received the Peabody Award this past January.

She was recognized for being a true educational leader, an academic visionary, and a credible communicator. Under her direction, Bosse High School was honored with the bronze award in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best High Schools" publication.

Huff has been recognized as one of the YMCA's 100 Most Influential Women of Evansville, Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, 2014 Athena Award winner, and a recipient of the Indiana Excellence in Education Award.

She also received a lifetime achievement award from the Indiana High School Athletic Association.
