HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - New antique looking street lights are coming to 2nd Street in Downtown Henderson.
A total of 37 new lights will be installed between Green Street and the railroad overpass.
The project is designed to create a more aesthetic gateway into downtown, in hopes of attracting more people and businesses.
We spoke with the owner of Petals and More, on 2nd Street, who thinks it's a great idea.
"The design of the lights I think is fitting for the city, and to add a little more charm and character, you know, as you drive along 2nd Street," said Mary Sue Barron. "We've got lights on the building that we leave on at night, but I think the addition of the street lights, will add a little more security for us."
The new street lights will be LED.
The bid for installation must be approved by the city commission.
