MCLEAN CO., KY (WFIE) - Kentucky native Ernestine Garst celebrated her 109th birthday in Calhoun on Thursday.

At her age, she admits she needs two things to get by: the Lord and University of Kentucky basketball.

Garst says she used to write letters to a Kentucky basketball coach, but time has faded her memory. She can't remember which coach, or how long ago. One thing she can remember, is to pray for a Wildcat victory.

The wins and years all blend together, but with God by her side, she says she'll live to 110-years-old, and at least one more Wildcat victory.

Garst says she is looking forward to the upcoming UK basketball season and meeting Coach John Calipari, which is one of the last things on her bucket list.
