Taking a Stand: Drums on the Ohio

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - In 1978 Drums on the Ohio made its debut in the Evansville area.

Since then, thousands of young men and women have lived out their dreams by pursuing their passion of performing.

Drums on the Ohio provides exuberant family entertainment for all ages and it allows community pride to show with our spectacular city and showcase our venue that is like no other.

This event encourages education in the arts. Local music programs are supported, scholarship opportunities are offered to those that have been accepted into a corps, there is a spin clinic for instruction and enhancement of color guard skills.

New this year is a drumline battle face off of 4 area drumlines, and for the second year students from grade 6-12 can participate in the National Anthem under the direction of our EVSC Superintendent, Dr. David Smith.
