EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The site of the future Freedom Heritage Museum in Evansville has been

announced.

The announcement was made at a ceremony Friday morning.

Officials say the $7 million museum will be built in between Tri-State Aero and the Hampton Inn on 41N.

We're told the museum will be 30,000 square feet with a hangar and exhibits.

The museum will be a tribute to the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft which were produced in the former Whirlpool building in Evansville during World War Two.
