HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) - The Henderson County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery they say ended in a car chase and

gunfire.

It

happened Monday afternoon around 2 p.m. on Green River Rd. #2, near T-Scharner Rd.

The victim told deputies that he had met three men there to sell them a rifle that he had posted about on Facebook. He says the men wanted to meet near the river so they could fire the gun before buying it.

After they fired off a round, the victim says one of the men pulled out a pistol and pointed it at him. Deputies say the man demanded his money back and took the victim's cellphone.

When the victim tried to ask what was going on the man fired a shot near his head and told him to leave.

The three men then got into an SUV and drove away.

The victim says he got into his car and took off after them.

Deputies say the victim told them that, during the chase, two of the men leaned out the windows of the SUV and started shooting at him.

He says he stopped chasing them at that point.

The sheriff's office says their investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

If you have any information you should call the sheriff's office at (270) 826-2716 or Crime Stopper at (270) 831-1111.
