WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) - The abduction of a Tri-State woman turned violent after the suspect was found shot to death.

We're told 36-year-old Tara Garland, a jailer at the Warrick County Jail, was taken at gunpoint by her former fiancé, 45-year-old Bradley Sease, outside her Chandler residence around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers say Sease ordered Garland to drive to a rural area in Crawford County.

Around 6 a.m. Sunday, Garland was able to get away, but Sease fired several shots at the vehicle, hitting it twice. One of the bullets entered the vehicle and hit Garland in the back.

She continued driving and eventually stopped at a home for help.

She was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital. She is currently listed in stable condition.

Sease was later found dead with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound near where the vehicle had been parked overnight.
