HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Henderson will soon have expanded options for children's services.
Community One says it has partnered with the City of Henderson, Engage Henderson, the South Heights Elementary School and the Raymond B. Preston Family Foundation to create the Audubon Kids' Zone.
The collaboration will provide services to the children of the East End.
Officials say the Audubon Kids' Zone – East End Hub is a direct response to the expressed needs of the people living in the East End Neighborhood.
In 2015, the Audubon Kids' Zone will be focused on two things: developing specific programs and building a physical hub.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring.
To develop programming for children, the group seeks to first assess the children in the area, their specific needs, and any gaps in services. They say a formal assessment will be conducted immediately.
