VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) - Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nick Hermann says six people are behind bars, charged with attempted murder, criminal confinement, and conspiracy to commit murder.
30-year-old Jason Greenlee and 27-year-old Tavon Clark are in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
Hermann says four others, Robert Robertson Jr., Amy Robertson, Royce Calvin, and Jamar Hooser, are in federal custody in Henderson.
The six arrests stem from an attempted robbery on December 20 at S. Garvin Street and Sweetser Avenue in Evansville.
According to the police report, a victim was jumped by several people and beaten with metal tools.
A seventh person, 32-year-old Michelle McCoin, is also in custody at the Vanderburgh County Jail in connection with the beating.
McCoin is is charged with assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice.
According to the case affidavit, McCoin was arrested during a law enforcement investigation at the home of Jamar Hooser in the 700 block of N. Fourth Avenue.
Court records state that detectives saw Michelle McCoin go into the home and then leave with a large black bag. Detectives say McCoin put that bag in a car, with her 4 children in the backseat. Detectives searched the duffel bag and found two loaded guns.
Detectives say they found several prescription bottles full of pills, cell phones, and money cards in McCoin's purse. They also found over $3,000 that she was hiding in her bra.
When detectives went inside the N. Fourth Avenue home, they found cell phones, a digital scale, and over 100 rounds of various ammunition, plus photographs showing a "Homicide Mafia" engraving.
Prosecutor Hermann says these arrests are part of a larger investigation and more arrests are possible. And we will keep you updated with any new information we get on this case.
