BOONVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A barn is rendered a total loss after a fire Sunday in Boonville. The call came in just after 11:00 am.

The Boonville Fire Department says the barn was already completely in flames upon arrival.

The Yankeetown Fire Department was called to assist to bring water tankers because of the late of hydrants and water supply in the area.

Firefighters were able to put of the fire quickly and stop it from spreading to the house.

"I do know he had a lot of stuff in the garage, car parts, motors stuff of that nature so its going to be quite a large loss," says Boonville Assistant Fire Chief Steven Byers.

Although the fire is still under investigation, authorities believe it might have started in a wood burner.
