EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Following a national search that lasted nearly 3months, the University of Evansville has a new Athletic Director to replace John Stanley, who announced his retirement in early June.

According to an email sent from UE's President to members of the Purple Aces Club, which provides scholarship aid for student athletes, Mark Spencer, who has served as Senior Associate Athletic Director at Oregon State since 2006, will now take over the Evansville Athletic Department.

Before joining the OSU program 8years ago, Spencer held positions at Saint Louis University, East Tennessee State, and the University of New Mexico.

He graduated from Georgia State with a Master's Degree in sports administration, and also from Saint Bonaventure with a Bachelor's degree in business administration.
