LOUISVILLE, KY (WFIE) - A dog who was found in Henderson with his head nearly cut off is improving at a Louisville animal hospital.
The Henderson County Humane Society says someone brought the dog in last week after they saw him stumbling around their yard. They are still trying to figure out who hurt the black lab.
The Arrow Fund says the dog, now named 'Mooney', is sitting up, eating and wagging his tail, but he still has a long way to go.
He has a drain for the infection in his shoulder/elbow and his neck is bandaged where he was cut. They are also keeping an eye on his other puncture wounds.
Foster and adoption applications for Mooney are being accepted by the Arrow Fund. A home visit and secure fence are required.
