EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Over 100 tornadoes have hit the mid-west in the past 3 days.
Luckily the Tri-State has been spared, but the memories are still fresh in the minds of many when it comes to the damage Mother Nature can cause.
We need only look back to November 2005 and the tornado that took 25 lives or the March 2012 tornado outbreak that killed three people in Henryville…to know that it could have been us.
The tri-state has proven time and time again that we're willing to lend a hand when tragedy strikes.
During these times, the American Red Cross is usually one of the first on the scene offering help to those who've just gone through their worst moments in life.
They provide food and shelter, help locate loved ones, and assist with recovery.
You can help the tornado victims in the south by texting Red Cross to 90999 to donate $10. Charges will appear on your mobile phone bill. Or you can donate on line.
It's an easy way to Take a Stand, and help those in need.
