Former Harrison teacher out of jail, awaiting trial

A former Harrison High School teacher will stay out of jail while he awaits trial on sex abuse charges.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office filed a petition to revoke Jordan McGuire's bond. A judge denied that request Friday afternoon.

In March 2012, McGuire was charged with providing alcohol to a former student and performing a sexual act on him against his will.

McGuire posted a $10,000 cash bond just after his arrest.

McGuire left his teaching job shortly before that.

His trial is set for April 21.
