MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) - A Madisonville woman has been arrested on drug charges after police respond to a burglary alarm at her home.

On Thursday, Madisonville Police say officers responded to a residential burglary alarm at 257 Spicer Ave.

MPD says after officers were let in by the resident, 23-year-old LaKoyea Hardy, they detected a strong smell of marijuana.

After seeing several items consistent with narcotics trafficking, the officers restrained Hardy and obtained a search warrant.

MPD says during the search a large amount of both marijuana and cash was found.

Hardy was arrested and taken to the Hopkins County Jail.
