High school student hit by vehicle in Henderson dies

The Henderson County High School student who was struck by a car walking to school Thursday morning has died.

According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office, 18-year-old Bradley A. Randall died just after 9 a.m. Friday at Deaconess Hospital where he was taken for treatment after the accident.

The accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday on Garden Mile Rd.

Police say Randall was crossing the street heading to school when he was struck by a car.

The driver of the vehicle was a 16-year-old female student.

The Henderson Police Department and the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office are investigating the incident.

Henderson County Schools released this statement on Friday:

"Henderson County Schools would like to extend its condolences to the family of Bradley Randall, an HCHS Green Unit senior who was involved in the accident on Garden Mile Road on the morning of January 30, 2014."

The statement went on to say that HCHS will have counselors available to meet with any students who request support and assistance in dealing with the loss of their classmate.
