MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) - Greenville police now know the good Samaritan who helped save a stabbing victim on Monday.

Officers say Jeff Warner stabbed his wife, Tina Warner, in the neck after a custody hearing in Muhlenberg County.

Authorities say Lance Martin, a firefighter, coal miner, and member of the National Guard, pulled his concealed weapon on Warner to prevent any more injuries.

Martin says it's an example of when a concealed weapon can help save a life.

"The kids and the lady had actually run out into traffic. I noticed they were all bloody and screaming, screaming for help and then saying, 'Help us, help us. He's trying to kill us.' You have to do what you have to do in a situation like that," Martin tells 14 News.

Another woman, who didn't want her name released, drove the kids and Tina, to the hospital. There's no word on Tina's condition on Tuesday night.

Warner remains in the Muhlenberg County Jail.
