Highway 554 in Daviess County, Kentucky reopened Monday night after authorities say a meth lab in a vehicle exploded, shutting down traffic in both directions.

It happened in the 2200 block of Highway 554 around 8:00 p.m.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Silvia Pickett and 21-year-old Andreas Richardson were both injured.

They say Pickett, who was driving and Richardson, who was a passenger, jumped from the car before it crashed into some pine trees.

They say Pickett was sent to Owensboro Health with burns, but is in good condition, and Richardson was flown to Louisville. He is listed in serious condition.

No word on what charges the two might eventually face.
