A call about a motorcycle wreck in Henderson came into dispatch around 11:30, but some firefighters already knew that something had happened.

The Fire department is very near where the crash took place; roughly near the split exit of Hwy 40 and 351.

Officials tell us the driver, 21-year-old Caleb Dance, left the intersection of US 41 South and Airline Road traveling north.  Police say Dance took the Henderson exit which leads to 2nd Street/KY 351.

Authorities say he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the guardrail. Police say Dance and the motorcycle then slid across the road striking the concrete curbing of the overpass.

Dance sustained serious injuries and was transported to Methodist Hospital and was later transferred to St. Mary's in Evansville.

Dance was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The Henderson Police Department, with assistance from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. Officials had the exit shut down for several hours during the investigation.
