Elementary teacher accused of stealing from Kohl's

The Evansville police department has arrested a woman for shoplifting from Kohl's Department store on 201 N. Burkhardt. Kimberly Starr Christian is accused of trying to leave the store with $316 worth of merchandise hidden in her purse.

A store employee says Christian removed items from the display and then put them in her cart. She then took them into the fitting area. The witness says that those items were missing from the cart when Christian returned. She stopped Christian outside and found that merchandise inside her purse.

On her Facebook page, Kimberly Starr Christian says she works at Niagara Elementary School in Henderson, and she is listed as a teacher on their website.
