Dangers of parents who smoke

(NBC) - Children whose parents smoke have an increased risk for high blood pressure, experts say.

Researchers measured the blood pressure of over 4,000 kindergarten boys and girls.

They found children with a smoking parent were 20-percent more likely to have high systolic blood pressure, the top number in the reading.

The risk was higher if a child's mother was a smoker.
