Tamar Sher joined the 14 News team in May 2021 as a Sports and News Anchor/Reporter. She couldn’t be more excited to start her career in the Tri-State.
A second generation Hoosier, Tamar is a May 2021 graduate from Indiana University Bloomington with a B.A. in Media. She received her degree from The Media School and finished on the Dean’s List as she concentrated in Sports Media and specialized in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations.
During her time in B-Town, Tamar participated in many student organizations within the IU Sports Media Program. In 2019, she was the first female journalist to join student managed The Hoosier Network and in 2020 she launched her podcast “Let’s Get Real”, leaving a legacy for female journalists covering women in sports. She also reported on a wide variety of IU athletic programs as a Sideline Reporter for Big Ten Network Student U. In her final semester, Tamar worked as a Sports Intern at WISH-TV in Indianapolis where she covered the entire NCAA March Madness and Final Four in Indianapolis.
A St. Louis native, Tamar’s love of sports started at a young age as she grew up a Cardinals and Blues fan. She loves everything about The Lou including Busch Stadium, the famous ravioli that is toasted, cracker thin IMO’s pizza, Ted Drewes frozen custard, and Kaldi’s Coffee.
